forcing a bitter internal struggle between rival factions. Rome: Total War Collection (sometimes abbreviated as RTW) is a strategy game that is part of the Total War series, which combines turn-based strategy games with real-time battles. Rome: Total War (often abbreviated to RTW or Rome) is a critically acclaimed strategy game composed of both turn-based strategy and real-time tactics, in which the player fights historical and fictitious battles set during late Roman Republic and early Roman Empire (270 BC–AD 14).
The player takes a role equivalent to the head of one the three great Roman houses at the time; the Julii, the Brutii, or the Scipii. Each of these factions has a different set of attributes and initial objectives. After a winning campaign as Romans (or using a simple mod) it is possible to play with other factions and take on a role similar to that of Hannibal, Commander-in-chief of the Carthaginian armies during the Second Punic War or the Gallic warlord Vercingetorix. Gameplay consists of a combination of turn-based strategy and 3D computer graphics real-time tactical battles. Total War: ROME REMASTERED
The 3D real-time action is uniquely different from most standard RTS games in that tactical maneuvering is critical to success whereas most RTS games take no account for the direction units are facing, flanking movements, breaking of lines, etc. The high-quality 3D computer graphics|3D graphics engine is able to render over thirty thousand men on a single battlefield. The strategic and tactical modes integrate such that the landscape for the battles is the same as seen on that particular spot on the strategic map where the armies meet.
In addition to the turn-based campaign, Rome: Total War also features 3D, real-time battles. Battles can be played as a part of the larger campaign, as a custom battle against the AI, as a preset “historical battle” based on a real-life military engagement, or as a multiplayer battle against other players. As opposed to the campaign, which features an overhead map of the world, battles take place on individual battlefields. The terrain of the battlefield can play a key role in how the battle plays out. In most cases, the ultimate goal of the battle is to defeat the enemy forces by either killing or routing all of their troops. Imperator: Rome
Control over territory in the game is represented by capturing and holding a settlement in that territory. New cities are conquered by either training soldiers in cities that are already in the player’s control and then using those soldiers to besiege enemy cities or by bribing the city into switching sides. Apart from simply expanding one’s faction, cities can have positive or negative effects on a nation. For example, well-managed cities can provide the faction that control them with valuable tax income, but poorly-managed cities may cost the player more money in maintenance than they make in taxes.
Battles are played on a 3D map the goal is to destroy the enemy. You must rout the enemy units, charging them on the rear, flanks, or annihilate them all. Be careful, a routed unit, especially pikemen or cavalrymen, can return to combat either in the normal way (this requires that the unit is still sufficiently present, a unit will never return with one or two soldiers), or thanks to to a general rally (be careful, if you have two generals in an army, only one can use the War Horn). As soon as you rout the enemy units so that there are no more fighting, your forces can pursue and annihilate the remnants of the enemy army. Total War: ROME II Emperor Edition
If you lose, the enemy prefers to finish the battle. The sieges take place in a city. The attacker is outside while the defender is inside his city. The attacker must wait for his siege machines to build before launching the attack otherwise he will be forced to go through the main gate, which is normally well defended. Fight alongside or against history’s greatest leaders such as Julius Caesar, Spartacus, and Hannibal to expand or destroy the Roman Empire. Lay siege against the Romans as Attila the Hun, fearful Saxons, or other savage factions using signature weapons and abilities.
